Meet Madison Box - Lomita

Workforce Challenge:

Lomita resident Madison Box, 18, found it challenging to get hired for her first job without any prior work experience.

Workforce Solution:

She learned about the South Bay One-Stop Center through her school.

Madison worked with her case manager to learn interview techniques and resume writing while building her confidence, skills and abilities to enter the workforce.

Outcome and Benefits:

Madison obtained work experience through internships and was hired at the Torrance Bakery.

“Take the opportunity! You will not find another program with individuals who care about your future as much as the South Bay One-Stop Center. I have met many caring and inspiring adults and mentors during this process, and I couldn’t be more grateful for my experiences. During the pandemic, I was still given the utmost support regardless of the circumstances.”
