Hollywood Park Casino
Workforce History:
Hollywood Park Casino opened in 1994 to provide a wagering and entertainment venue in the South Bay as well as bring hundreds of new jobs to the region.
Workforce Challenge:
Late in 2019 Hollywood Park Casino was experiencing difficulties in finding qualified candidates to fill their numerous food service, hospitality, and customer service positions. In January 2020, it turned to the South Bay Workforce Investment Board One-Stop Business and Career Center Inglewood to partner on a campaign to attract more applicants for their open positions.
Outcomes & Benefits:
The One-Stop staff utilized its network of worksource partners and social media outreach that resulted in a greatly increased flow of qualified candidates for Hollywood Park Casino between January and March. Hollywood Park Casino plans to use more of the services provided by the One-Stop center including on site recruitments and on the job training after re-opening in the post COVID 19 era.
