Meet Monica Martinez


Workforce Challenge:

Monica Martinez, a 19-year-old Inglewood resident, was planning for college by taking college prep classes but became overwhelmed by her various responsibilities and could not move forward.


Workforce Solution:

While attending SBWIB’s YouthBuild program, Monica gained access to counselors who helped her develop work and study habits to stay on track with homework and assignment deadlines.


Outcome and Benefits:

These habits helped her became the first one in her family to graduate from high school and attend college. She plans to work and start a career.
