Meet Steven Lopez

Workforce Challenge:

Steven Lopez, thirty-eight-year old Lomita resident, was out of a job for over a year after leaving his previous position. Unable to benefit from unemployment benefits, he searched for employment on his own. His savings were dwindling slowly to the point he almost became homeless a few times.

Workforce Solution:

Steven reached out to the South Bay One-Stop Business & Career Center in Torrance for assistance. At the One-Stop, he obtained resume writing assistance, education opportunities, especially financially, and most importantly being connected to a case worker who was dedicated in seeing him succeed.

Outcome and Benefits:

With assistance from the One-Stop and determination, Steven obtained employment at TriNet.

“Don’t be afraid or ashamed to ask for help. Even if that just means asking someone where to get help. And never give up on you, you ARE worth it.”
